I'm inclined to agree with you, it strikes me as slightly crass to sectionalise a fairly unique engine, one of few survivors from 1873 - surely the musuem could have had access to other more commonly found engines to which this could have been done?

I wonder if they're ever going to give us our engine back? It's good that it survived, however it really should be returned to the Island now that times are less turbulent.
