Talyllyn Locomotive No.1 Going To Ffestiniog Railway For Repair Following on from the incident on Sunday 6th April 2014 when the motion on the driver’s side of Talyllyn Railway Locomotive No.1 was severely damaged following a mechanical failure, a plan for its repair has now been put in place.
Therefore, the locomotive has been transported to the Ffestiniog Railway’s Boston Lodge Works, where it will initially be stripped for a full assessment of the damage.
Assuming that no significantly extra damage is found the Ffestiniog Railway’s work’s team will then carry out the repairs with the full co-operation of the Talyllyn’s engineering department.
