Bala Lake Railway 40th Birthday

Saturday 11th and Sunday 12 th August 2012 sees the Bala Lake Railway celebrating its 40th birthday. Dinorwic Quarry Hunslet loco’s Alce, Holy War and Maid Marian are scheduled to be in steam and working trains. Recently returned Winifred will be on display aswell as under rebuild George B making a total of 5 quarry Hunslets. Demonstation slate trains will run using the newly restored Dinorwic wagons. The Dinorwic “yellow” truck will be available for rides and on Saturday “Jack the Station Cat” author Alan Cliff will be signing books. Further details from the railway’s web site.
