Work achieved during Summer Outdoor Week <!—break—> Sat 25th June – Sun 3rd July inclusive Weather  – Eight days of lovely sunshine followed the 1st Saturday when it was overcast with some heavy showers.

Strimming was carried out during the week at the following locations:- Pendre Crossing and Slaughter House areas Fach Goch Halt Drain area at the bottom Cynfal Bank Cynfal Halt and stream area Rhydyronen Station area Between the up and down whistleboards at Brynglas Quarry Siding Abergynolwyn drive, car park and play area Tasks Putting the weed killing gear away House keeping train to Nant Gwernol and back Clearing the flangeways at Forestry Crossing Repairing part of the fencing at the top of the drive at Abergynolwyn which was knocked over by a passengers car Improving sight lines West of Quarry Siding Measuring up rails for the Wharf Cutting task Bonfire at Ty mawr Clearing away the old sleepers on which the black shed stood Dismantling the weed killing train Ivy clearance at Pendre Construction of the temporary storage area for the new sleepers Rail retaining work in Wharf cutting Preparatory work for the new drainage chamber by School Bridge Drainage work at the bottom of Cynfal Bank Line inspection work between Dolgoch and Nant Gwernol Line inspection work at Bryngals loop Taking delivery of 480 sleepers and taking most to the storage area East of Pendre Crossing Cutting back overgrown vegetation at Bryner West Crossing Tamping at the top of Brynglas Bank Removing stray brambles between Nant Gwernol & Dolgoch Clearing flangeways on the loco road at Wharf During the 9 days 16 (23) individuals gave 89 (86) people days of effort to "Things Outdoors" (last years figures in brackets).
