This is the foot of the incline up to Llechwedd quarry in Blaenau Ffestiniog. The old FfR ended just to the left of the photograph at Dinas. From here empty slate trains were hauled up to the main quarry several hundred feet above to the right of this shot , counter-balanced by loaded wagons coming down. The photo was taken some time in the late 1970's.
