Young People's Railway Experience Day, North Ings, 30th June 2007

The Young People's Railway Experience Day arranged by the Museum trust and the East Midlands Area Group took place as planned at North Ings Farm Museum on Saturday 30 June. Twelve young people from age 10 – 14 took part and learnt about issuing and checking tickets; preparing and guarding trains; signalling on the permissive block system; driving the Museum’s diesel locomotive “Penelope” and operating the Museum’s steam locomotive “Swift”.

In spite of the wet weather all said they had enjoyed the day.

Thanks to members of the E Midlands Group and Tim at North Ings for the organisation.
