Fairbourne Railway - Name Change

It has been decided to re-name the Fairbourne & Barmouth Steam Railway to the original name of the Fairbourne Railway, because it is a far more accurate description of the line. We hope this will reduce the chance of potential confusion for the visitor to the line.

Penrhyn Point Station will be revert back to being called Barmouth Ferry (which describes the line’s terminus perfectly) and the Penrhyn Pavilion Caf will be renamed Harbour View Caf. The long station name (GORSAFAWDDACHAIDRAIGODANHEDDOGLEDDOLLONPENRHYNAREURDRAETHCEREDIGION) at the half-way halt will revert back to Golf Halt (although the long name may be shown in small letters underneath the new sign).
