Rebuilding the Shop Wall - Photographs

With the shop exterior wall (facing Neptune Road) now rebuilt, Jon Richmond has sent these photographs taken yesterday, Sunday 30th January.

The new shop wall from the outside.

The remaining section of the 1865 building (between the new
wall and the entrance doors) awaiting repointing.

Building materials for the work in the shop are stacked on the
platform.

Dave Scotson and Graham Jenkins prepare to fit window locks to a
shop window.

Finishing off the ceiling, with the new wall to the right. The
electrically operated shutter between the shop and new cafe (currently
covered with a plastic sheet) is clearly visible.

The booking hall end of the shop – the floor level is being lowered
here because of the new slate floor.

Meanwhile out in the rather dusty booking hall…

No 8 ‘Merseysider’ sits in Wharf platform with a works train.

A notice in the window of the old café says it will be open again
on 4th February.

Anyone want some bricks?
